Common questions and quick fixes
FastAsyncWorldEdit is a hard requirement, NovaFFA disables itself if it is missing or failed to enable, since arena regeneration has nothing to rebuild with otherwise. Check your console log above the disable message, it names the exact reason. See Installation.
No. NovaFFA is built on Paper API only, there is no Spigot fallback layer.
Yes, 26.1 and 26.2 are supported from the same jar as 1.21.1 through 1.21.11. See Installation.
If a kit is literally named kit, arena, help, leave, lobby, stats or editkits, the command literal wins over the kit name argument, so typing /ffa <that name> runs the subcommand instead of joining. It still works from the fight menu. See Kits.
Remove spawn from commands.aliases.lobby in config.yml. Whichever plugin registers the bare command first wins it, the other stays reachable as novaffa:spawn. See Fight Menu.
Yes, since 2.0.0 kits and layouts are stored using Paper's own item format, custom items and data components survive a restart intact.
A material name like splash_potion cannot say which potion is inside. Hold the potion you want and run /ffa kit edit <kit> icon hand, available since 2.6.0, which saves the whole item as the icon. The same works for dyed, enchanted or custom model items. See Kits.
A head set to a player, by skull: viewer, player:SomeName or uuid:<uuid>, carries only that player's name or uuid until the skin behind it is fetched. Since 2.9.0 NovaFFA fetches it: from the player themselves when they are online, from SkinsRestorer when it is installed, and from Mojang otherwise, then fills the head in while the menu is still open. On a cracked server Mojang has no answer to give, because the uuid was made up locally, so install SkinsRestorer and heads show the skins it holds. Heads written as texture:, url: or hash: carry their own skin and never needed any of this. See Borders, Fillers and Heads.
An item you wrote into custom_items is decoration until you tell it what to do. Give it join: <kit or arena> to drop the player into a fight, or a commands list to run commands as the player or the console, both new in 2.9.0. The kit buttons the fight menu draws from your kits are separate and have always joined on click. See Items that do something.
Turn on arenas.regeneration.protect_players in config.yml, on by default since 2.9.0, which stops the world hurting anybody inside the arena while it rebuilds and lifts anyone sealed in the new blocks up to open air. For a gentler rebuild again, arenas.regeneration.layers.enabled puts the arena back a row at a time from the bottom up, so the floor returns under a player before the roof returns over them. See Arenas and Regeneration.
Nothing carries over from an old ContinuumFFA folder by design, NovaFFA starts with a clean folder of its own and leaves the old one alone. Arenas, kits and player stats need setting up again. See Storage.
Not while combat tagged. The timer blocks /leaveffa, /lobby, walking or flying into the lobby corners, switching kits, and any command you list under combat_tag.block.commands.
Still stuck? See Support.
