Introduction
What NationCrest does, what it needs, and where to go next.
NationCrest works out which country a player is connecting from and gives you that country as placeholders, a tab list prefix and a nametag prefix.
Read this before anything else
Flag emojis do not render in vanilla Minecraft. The characters a flag emoji is built from sit above U+FFFF, outside the vanilla font's glyph coverage, and the vanilla font does not join them into a flag. A flag emoji comes out as missing character boxes.
Because of that, NationCrest outputs the two letter country code by default. US, IN, DE. That works on every client with no resource pack and no setup.
If you run a resource pack with a flag font, you map your own character per country and switch modes. See Display modes.
Quick facts
| Server software | Paper, and Paper forks |
| Minecraft | 1.21.4 and newer |
| Java | 21 or newer |
| Hard dependencies | None |
| Optional | PlaceholderAPI |
Paper only. The tab list and nametag code uses Paper's own methods, so this will not load on plain Spigot.
