Territory and Trails¶
Leave a trail when you go out, close a loop, and the area you circled fills with your color.
The basic loop¶
- You start with a small home square in your color.
- The moment you leave your ground, you start drawing a trail behind you.
- Drive a loop and come back into your own ground.
- The area you circled fills with your color and becomes yours.
The bigger the loop, the more ground you take in one move. But you are open to attack the whole time your trail is out, so there is a risk to every grab.
Safe and unsafe¶
| State | When | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Safe | Inside your own ground, or on neutral ground with no trail out | You cannot be shattered by trails |
| Unsafe | The moment you step off your own ground and your trail starts | Anyone crossing your trail shatters you |
Your trail is your weak spot
While your trail is out, it is live. If a rival drives across it, you shatter. The longer the trail, the more of it there is to defend. Close your loop quickly to lock in the ground and become safe again.
What the ground looks like¶
The game uses normal blocks, so no resource pack is needed.
| Thing | Block |
|---|---|
| Neutral ground | White concrete |
| Your claimed ground | Concrete in your color |
| Your active trail | Concrete powder in your color |
Closing a loop¶
When you return to your own ground, the plugin fills in everything you enclosed. This includes:
- The trail itself, which turns into solid ground.
- Any neutral ground inside the loop.
- Any rival ground caught inside the loop, which becomes yours.
This is how you take territory from other players: trap their ground inside your loop and it changes to your color.
Try it¶
- Join a match and drive out of your home square.
- Make a wide loop around some neutral ground.
- Return to your own color.
- Watch the whole area fill in. Your territory percent jumps up.
Eliminations build on this. See Eliminations for trail crosses and encirclement.
