Eliminations¶
The ways a player can be taken out: trail crosses, same-tick double kills, and encirclement.
Crossing a trail¶
When a player is outside their own ground, they draw a live trail. If another player drives across that trail, the trail's owner shatters. This is the main way to take someone out.
You can also shatter yourself by crossing your own trail, so watch your path on tight loops.
Hunt the trail, not the boat
You do not need to ram another player. You need to cut their trail. Watch for someone making a long loop and slice across the line they left behind.
Same-tick double kills¶
If two players cross each other's trails at the exact same moment, both shatter. The plugin gathers all trail crosses for a tick and applies them together at the end of that tick, so there is no "who got there first" tiebreak. A clean trade takes out both players.
Encirclement¶
If you surround a rival so they have no ground left at all, they are eliminated. This happens when your claims swallow the last block they owned. It is harder to pull off than a trail cross, but it removes a player who is hiding safely on their own ground.
Other ways to go out¶
| Cause | What happened |
|---|---|
| Crossed a rival trail | Someone cut your live trail |
| Crossed your own trail | You drove over your own line |
| Left the arena | You slid past the edge wall |
| Idle too long | You did not move for the idle timeout (default 30 seconds) |
| Encircled | You were boxed in with no ground left |
| Disconnected | You left the server during the match |
After you are out¶
When you are eliminated you become a spectator. You can fly around freely and watch the rest of the match. Living players cannot see you, so you will not get in their way. See Stats and Leaderboards for what gets recorded.
Try it¶
- Start a match with two players.
- Have one player drive a long loop so their trail is out.
- Have the other player cut across that trail.
- The looping player shatters. The other player gets the kill.
