Introduction

What RegenZones does and where to go next.

RegenZones brings blocks back after they are broken. Draw a region, tell it which blocks to watch, and every handled block that gets broken inside that region comes back after a set time, exactly as it was.

The block is swapped out the instant it is broken (bedrock by default, any other block, or plain air) and swapped back once its timer runs out. This is not limited to ores. A crop comes back at the growth stage it was harvested at, a log comes back with the same axis, a slab comes back on the same half. RegenZones stores the block's full state, not just its material name.

New here? Start with Installation, then read Selection and Regions to draw your first region.

What it does

  • Selection and regions. A wand or /rz pos1 and /rz pos2 mark a cuboid, then /rz create <name> turns it into a region. Regions can overlap, the highest priority one wins. See Selection and Regions.
  • Block rules. Decide which materials or groups (ores, logs, crops, stone types) a region handles, or hand it everything with an exclusion list. See Block Rules.
  • The regeneration engine. Captures the exact block data on break, swaps in a temporary block, and restores the original later in small batches so a big region never lags the server. Restart safe, the pending list lives in a database. See Regeneration Engine.
  • Protection. Stops players and, optionally, pistons, explosions and mobs from touching a block while it is mid regen, with a staff bypass permission and an even stricter Creative mode lock. See Protection and Break Sources.
  • Farm zones. Farmland that survives drying out and trampling, and crops that grow on a timer of their own, no light or water needed. See Farm Zone.
  • Custom blocks. A region rule can name an ItemsAdder block directly, if it is installed. See Block Rules.
  • A config GUI. /rz menu covers everything a command can do to a region, from an in-game menu. See Config GUI.
